Trading robots and MetaTrader tools

Robot & Tools groups recent Expert Advisors together with utilities that support automated trading. Most listings are ready-to-run robots for XAUUSD and forex pairs on MT4 or MT5, often supplied with setfiles; the rest are tools such as trade copiers and signal utilities that run alongside your strategy.

Many robots here also appear in the main Expert Advisor category. Use the Market, Strategy, Timeframe, and Account type filters to narrow the list. Gold traders can also compare the XAUUSD EA hub, and funded-account traders the prop firm EA hub.

Before running a robot

  • Match platform and build: MT4 robots use EX4 files and MT5 robots use EX5 files; compare the build number in the title with your terminal.
  • Load the setfile: when a product includes setfiles, load the one for your symbol and timeframe instead of the default inputs.
  • Check the strategy type: grid, martingale, and hedging robots can hold several open positions and need more margin than single-entry systems.
  • Keep the terminal online: robots only trade while MetaTrader is running, so most traders use a VPS.
  • Test on demo first: confirm spread, symbol name, lot size, and drawdown behaviour with your broker before going live.

Robot & Tools FAQ

What is the difference between a trading robot and a trading tool?

A robot (Expert Advisor) opens and closes trades from its own rules. A tool, such as a trade copier or signal utility, supports your trading but does not run a complete strategy by itself.

What are setfiles?

Setfiles (.set) are saved input settings for an EA, usually prepared for a specific symbol, timeframe, or risk level. Load them from the Inputs tab of the EA in MetaTrader.

Can I use these robots on a prop firm account?

Only if the rules of the robot fit the firm's limits on daily loss, maximum drawdown, and trading style. Use the Prop firm filter and read each product's notes before trading a funded account.

Do trading robots guarantee profit?

No. Automated trading carries the same market risk as manual trading. Test on a demo account and use lot sizes you can afford to lose.
